Emily is the principal designer, creative director, and founder of Hinge Interior. Inspired by a philosophy of quality over quantity and a desire for timeless, authentic beauty, she designs residential interiors that elevate everyday living. She is passionate about delivering enduring design through thoughtful manipulation of interior architecture and careful sourcing of durable, high-quality furnishings and finishes. As Hinge’s design visionary, Emily leads the studio to continually push creative boundaries while maintaining an aesthetic that balances modern, tailored, and organic influences.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy of design is much more extensive than selecting paint colors, beautiful furnishings, and accessories. Before we even think about furniture or layouts, we address the surfaces in the space. The shell is the foundational layer - millwork, windows, ceiling beams, texture on the walls - the interior architecture. We look at each room we design as an opportunity to add value and substance to the entire home. Depending on the style of the home and the desired feel, we add character to every room whether it’s millwork, plaster finishes, wallcoverings, or tile.
